West End student development to open

29 Jan 2014

A new block of student flats will open in the West End in time for the new academic year.

The development in Kelvinhaugh Street, which is understood to cost £18 million, has been named Tramworks.

It involves the redevelopment of a former plumbers' merchant, which has been lying vacant for years.

The development will provide accommodation for 230 students in individual studios or shared flats which will have a small double bed, work space and an en-suite shower room.

The flats will have an on-site gym for the sole use of the students and the cost is included in the rent.
