Sleek new £70m build for Queen Street

23 Feb 2012

A planning application has been approved to redevelop a 1960s office block in the heart of the city centre into a new landmark building.

BAM Properties plan to create a new office and retail development in a prominent position on the corner of Queen Street and Ingram Street, on the site, which is located opposite the Gallery of Modern Art.

The new building will have a sleek, contemporary, curved glass façade and will provide 143,000 sq ft of office space over 8 floors. The ground and mezzanine levels will feature retail and leisure units spanning a further 23,000 sq ft, which will be accessed from Ingram Street.

At basement level there will be 56 car paking spaces and cycle storage.

The developers are working to ensure the highest environmental standards are reached by the building and aim to secure a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.
