Glasgow City Centre, IFSD
The Sentinel is on the site of the former Ministry of Defence
building between Waterloo Street and Douglas Street and provides
85,000ft² of highly specified office space over the ground and nine
Situated in the heart of Glasgow's International Financial
Services District (IFSD), the open plan office accommodation boasts
spectacular panoramic views over Glasgow and includes a modern,
spacious roof terrace on floor nine.
Renowned for its innovative "UK first" LED light technology,
Sentinel has won several design awards. In May 2005, the building
received the best commercial project prize at the Scottish Design
Awards and the following month, the innovative development received
a prestigious international award for architecture from the Royal
Institute of British Architects.
The building was completed in March 2005. Since then, Sentinel
has attracted a number of high profile businesses.
2003 - 2005
Between 2003 and 2014 Clyde Waterfront was a strategic
partnership comprising the Scottish Government, Scottish
Enterprise, Glasgow City, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire
Councils. Its purpose was to promote the economic, social and
environmental regeneration of 13 miles of the River Clyde from
Glasgow city centre to Dumbarton.
