Glasgow gets ready

17 Feb 2014

A new website has been launched, offering a one-stop-shop for businesses and residents to obtain the most up-to-date information about the impact of the games on the city.

Get Ready Glasgow is the umbrella brand for all work being carried out to keep the city functioning in the lead up to and during the Games and making sure the city is prepared to welcome athletes and visitors from around the world - a process known as City Operations. Planning teams have been established in key areas to oversee the impact of the events at venues on the surrounding areas; and what impact the events will have on the services that the council provides to businesses and residents in their day-to-day lives.

The key responsibilities of City Operations include traffic and transport, business continuity, licensing, regulatory approvals and safety and security. The new website will be a one-stop-shop for businesses and residents to obtain the most up-to-date information about the impact of the games on the city.
