Indigo hotel recruiting 100 staff

07 Feb 2011

Hotel Indigo is preparing for an Easter launch following the £20 million refurbishment of an ornate Victorian building in Waterloo Street. The hotel plans to recruit 100 new staff before the opening.

The 95-bedroomed luxury hotel in Waterloo Street, and its neighbouring Limelight Bar and Grill, will be run by hotelier and La Bonne Auberge restaurateur Maurice Taylor. It's owned by InterContinental the world's biggest hotel group.

Billed as a stylish and attractive location in the city's International Financial Services District, the hotel has begun a recruitment campaign to find up to 100 staff before its April opening.

The hotel, with restaurant and bar, will bring back to life an historic 19th century building. The former power station, dating from the 1890s, used to illuminate Glasgow School of Art and provided electricity to power the city's network of tram cars. Every bedroom and suite in Glasgow will be decorated with murals featuring city scenes.
