A derelict site, once home to a Post Office sorting office, has been given a new lease of life with the official opening of a £4million housing development.
Deputy First Minister and Govan MSP Nicola Sturgeon opened the
development in Govan's Pearce Street.
It is yet another sign of the new life that is being breathed back
into the area through the Central Govan Action plan.
The site, developed by Bield Housing Association, is on the corner
of Pearce Street and Pearce Street Lane.
It stood as an unoccupied eyesore for many years, but will now
provide much needed homes in the area.
The site was purchased in October 2007 and demolition of the
sorting office followed early in 2008.
Now, the development is being officially unveiled.
