River open for business

11 May 2012

The Glasgow to Braehead river shuttle is back on the river, with a regular service running daily from 14 May till 14 October 2012.

Run by Clyde Clippers, the service is back after a successful season last year.

Boats now depart from Glasgow City Centre Pontoon underneath Glasgow Central Station Railway Bridge, closer to City Centre

New for this year, Clyde Clippers have introduced:

  • GPS triggered commentary system onboard the Rover for the Glasgow - Braehead service
  • Online booking system - allowing any of their ferry services, speciality tours and extended trips to be purchased online
  • Joint ticket option with Glasgow City Sightseeing tour buses which includes a discount off bus and boat
  • Discounted entry to the Tall Ship

During July and August two vessels will operate Thurs - Sun on the Glasgow to Braehead route to meet demand. High summer will also feature "Specialty River Trips" e.g. Glasgow by Night, River Clyde Architectural Cruise, Whisky on Water, Comet Anniversary Cruise, River Clyde Shipping and Heritage, these are all timetabled throughout July and August and are early evening cruises.

Find out more and book your river trip on the Clyde Clippers website.
