The water cycle and water supplies

The circulation of water in the hydrological cycle, historical sources of water in Clyde basin towns and cities; links with water-related disease (e.g.: cholera epidemics in Glasgow, Paisley and Greenock); introduction of modern water supplies (e.g.: Loch Katrine for Glasgow and Loch Thom for Greenock); the UK problem – water surplus in north-west, deficit in south-east, possible solutions; water storage/transfer schemes in other countries e.g.: California, Egypt.
