Learn the Ropes (P1-3) (max 50 pupils) Pupils dress like a Captain's Mate, discover what sailor's ate for breakfast, climb into a sailor's bunk and ring the ship's bell.
A Sailor's Life for Me (P4-7) (max 35 pupils) Pupils discover what life was like at sea for Victorian sailors. Pupils try their hand at writing in the Captain's logbook, handle Victorian objects, take hold of the wheel and investigate overcrowded living quarters in the deckhouse.
Standard Tour (All Stages) (max 35 pupils) Popular interactive tour that can be easily adapted to suit all levels and abilities.

£30 per session (approx 60 mins) These new workshops are based around group work and incorporate exciting challenge-based activities.
Buried Treasure! (P1-3) max 30 pupils Children hear tales of swashbuckling pirates before pupils dig for buried treasure in 'seabed' sand trays! After plundering their loot, groups must decide how to divide their treasure according to the Pirate Articles!
Ghastly Grub! (P4-5) max 30 pupils What did you eat for breakfast? Did you have to tap the weevils from your hardtack? Have you remembered to drink your ration of lime juice to keep the dreaded scurvy at bay?
Shipwrecked (P6-7) max 30 pupils Pupils take on the role of marine archaeologists as they uncover shipwreck artefacts from 'seabed' sand trays. Using primary and secondary sources, they will have to work in teams to discover the stories of ships and souls lost at sea. |

What Happens on the Day At the start of a visit, classes assemble in the Lower Gallery using the Disabled Entrance. Here they will be met by our Learning Assistants. Workshops take place at this location, and for tours, classes are split into small groups to explore the ship.
Lunch Facilities Pupils can have packed lunch in the visitor centre. There are also picnic benches outside.
What to Wear Guided tours take place outdoors. Pupils should be suitably dressed with warm, waterproof clothing.
Access There is disabled parking, a coach drop off point and level access out onto the quayside. Two gangways allow wheelchair access onto the main deck of the Glenlee. There are two lifts on board, with crew on hand to assist. Disabled toilets are situated in the visitor centre and on board the Glenlee. The gift shop and cafe are not wheelchair accessible, but refreshments can be taken to the lower gallery.
