Description

As part of the regeneration of the Queens Quay site, the high quality of public realm evident on Glasgow Road will also be provided along the waterfront. The first stage in this process is a new riverside walkway along the eastern part of the site. This connects with the new access from Cart Street and goes along the new quay wall in front of the enterprise centre and in front of the new Clydebank College. This also links with a new bus terminus at the college. The college has a café on the waterside which will be open to the general public.

Access to the riverside is also being provided around the base of the Titan Crane but only as part of a visit to the crane at present.

Further sections of riverside walkway will be constructed with each new building along the waterfront. Once completed there will be a continuous public path around Queens Quay and all the way to Hospital Gate. The centrepiece of this will be a new open space between the Queens Quay basin and Glasgow Road. A new pedestrian crossing here will link to the town centre via Alexander Street.
