Description

Residential development features prominently in the proposed regeneration of the Clydebank waterfront corridor and town centre.

It is estimated that by 2010, work will be underway to provide up to 2,000 new homes at several locations. The principal location will be Queens Quays, with an estimated 1,200 new housing units. This major programme of building is critical to the success of the town’s regeneration, as a diverse stock of housing in relation to size, type, cost and tenure will help boost the Clydebank’s social and economic vibrancy by providing enhanced choice for existing local residents, returners to the area and newcomers.

Private housing will dominate the new provision although Clydebank Re-built is working closely with landowners, developers and local housing associations to ensure availability of affordable and social rented housing in the new developments.
