Location:

Old Kilpatrick to Dumbarton, Lomondgate

Description:

The 20 acre Lomondgate Business Park, which will be sensitively landscaped, forms part of the £100m Lomondgate major mixed-use development located to the north west of Dumbarton. The Business Park will feature up to 10 office pavillions and a Business Village, offering a total of 190,000 sq ft of office space, along with Hub Building. The Hub will feature a 5,000 sq ft creche, 7,000 sq ft of support services and retail space, in addition to 12,000 sq ft of office space at first floor level.

It will provide high quality office accommodation for up to 1,000 employees and could significantly boost the local economy according to economic experts.

Anchor tenant, BBC Scotland, now has well established facilities at its Dumbarton Studios, well known as the home for River City, but also the location for a growing number of other productions.

Aggreko is creating a £20m manufacturing at Lomondgate, immediately behind the site for the pavilions.

The development of the associated services and retail facilities will provide on-site services for the business park to ensure staff are fully catered for within their working environment.

A new roundabout is already in place providing access to the business park from the A82. Glasgow International Airport lies approximately 12 miles south east across the Erskine Bridge and regular bus services will link the business park directly with Dumbarton town centre and the wider surrounding area. Within the town there are three railway stations that provide links to Glasgow City Centre.

Lomondgate is an 100 acre development on the edge of Dumbarton. In addition to the Business Park, the development also includes 300 houses and roadside services for travellers on the A82.

Current status:

The ground has been cleared and infrastructure is being put in place, including a new roundabout on A82 completed September 2008.

A masterplan for the site was approved in November 2010.

Work on constructing the first two-storey office pavillion is anticipated to start soon.

Andy Scott has been commissioned to create a sculpture for the main roundabout on the A82.

The site is currently being marketed as a development opportunity.
