Greater Govan & Glasgow Harbour, Govan
Following a £6m upgrade to the Riverside Estate housing, a
project is now underway to improve the public space around the
flats and upgrade the waterfront, adding the finishing touches to
this popular new development.
As part of the improvements, works an artist will be
commissioned to produce a piece of public art, working closely with
the community to identify their aspirations for the art piece.
This work concentrates on the strip alongside the riverfront and
the adjacent residential area. The second phase will provide
lanscaping amongst the housing.
Between 2003 and 2014 Clyde Waterfront was a strategic
partnership comprising the Scottish Government, Scottish
Enterprise, Glasgow City, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire
Councils. Its purpose was to promote the economic, social and
environmental regeneration of 13 miles of the River Clyde from
Glasgow city centre to Dumbarton.
