Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow Green
Templeton on the Green is a unique mixed use 'lifestyle village'
overlooking the historic Glasgow Green.
Templeton, originally a carpet factory until 1980, is one of
Glasgow's best-known landmarks. It includes a collection of
Grade A listed buildings, constructed through the late 1800's and
early 1900's and arranged around a courtyard. The principal
decorative building by Sir William Lieper is believed to have
been based on the design of the Doges Palace in Venice and is
regarded by many as one of the finest decorative brick buildings in
The buildings are being converted within an approved masterplan
to provide offices, workshops, creative studios and new and
converted flats. The buildings overlooking the Green are to be
developed as spacious apartments. The first 34 converted flats are
The total value of the development is approximately £20 million.
Between 2003 and 2014 Clyde Waterfront was a strategic
partnership comprising the Scottish Government, Scottish
Enterprise, Glasgow City, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire
Councils. Its purpose was to promote the economic, social and
environmental regeneration of 13 miles of the River Clyde from
Glasgow city centre to Dumbarton.
