Waterfront regeneration
The regeneration of the Broomielaw and Custom House Quay has
created new commercial space along the river. ensuring
the city can attract a variety of modern new businesses and
industries.
Glasgow commercial property developments such as the International Financial Services District (IFSD) at the Broomielaw provide a range of high quality office accommodation.
The International
Financial Services District involves the development of more
than two million square feet of new office space. Since the
launch of the IFSD, over 15,500 net new jobs have moved in to the
District through new investment, expansion or diversified
development.
Commercial property in Glasgow city centre is
being developed to keep pace with this project. Many businesses
have relocated to the area, creating a lively business quarter in
the city centre and vibrancy along the waterfront as a result.
At the time of its launch in 2001, the IFSD covered approx one
square kilometre between St Vincent Street and the River Clyde and
it became the catalyst for rengerating the Broomielaw and the west
city centre area. Following its successful growth, the
Disitrct has expanded to the north, east and west to cover a wider
area of Glasgow city centre and is now regarded as the brand
for Glasgow's financial services community.
