Location:

Greater Govan & Glasgow Harbour, Partick

Description:

Partick is Scotland's fifth busiest public transport interchange and one of the best used hubs in the Strathclyde Passenger Transport network, with 4 million travellers passing through it each year. As the regeneration of the surrounding area continues, the station is set to become even busier.

To meet this expected increase in passenger numbers, the ageing station has been demolished and replaced with a new flagship building. One of the main challenges was to keep the station and its train, bus and subway services running normally throughout the construction programme.

The new station is now in use, revitalising the busy facilities and making it easier for travellers to change from one type of transport to another.  Partick interchange is now fitted with improved customer information displays and state of the art CCTV security coverage throughout.

The bus stance area at street level has been redesigned and accessibility enhanced throughout the station complex.  This will ensure easier access to bus, train and subway services for everyone.
