New opportunities to get about on the River Clyde are developing with river boat services operating along the river and providing a service to the Riverside Museum which opens on 21 June.
A new river bus service is developing to take passengers to the
Riverside Museum when it opens next month.
Last year Clyde Clippers launched a river bus operating five days
a week from the city centre to Braehead.
It proved so popular that this year the service will run seven
days a week with a new stop at the transport museum, which opens on
21 June.
The MV Rover, which began operating this week, can carry up to 80
passengers and will have pick up points at the Broomielaw, Glasgow
Science Centre and Braehead.
Clyde Clippers is also the company behind the new Govan Ferry,
which from June 21 will take visitors from Govan to the new
museum.
Clydelink, which runs the Renfrew to Yoker ferry, has also
launched a waterbus service between the city centre and
Braehead.
It will also run from the Broomielaw seven days a week, stopping
at the Science Centre.
There are plans for the service to stop at the Riverside Museum
when it opens.
Clydelink's boss Mark Aikman said: "We believe there is strong
demand for this service."
