The brand new Riverside Museum, the new riverside home for Glasgow's transport collection is to be linked by bus to the Kelvingrove Gallery, if plans for a new service go ahead.
Transport bosses want someone to run a bus service covering the
10 minute walk between Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Glasgow's new
Riverside Museum
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport and Glasgow City Council are
advertising for a bus operator for the route. Interested transport
companies willing to organise a bus decked out in "iconic livery"
advertising the service are being invited to put in a bid.
The service will run via Partick Interchange and link up with
routes to other destinations across the city.
They also hope the route will be incorporated into the North Clyde
"Fastlink" service.
Bus firms will be able to apply for a grant to run the service
from SPT's Network Enhancement Grant Scheme.
The route between the two venues is only a five to 10 minute walk
along the River Kelvin.
