Downtown Space, developer of Glasgow's newest property icon, The
Hub at Pacific Quay, has announced that further to the raft of new
tenants signed up in the last few weeks, three more firms have now
taken space at the building.
First to be signed up in recent days is G2 Business Services.
This service performance and business process management expert
will take approximately 1,000 ft² at the waterfront building on a
new two year lease. It will join several other high-profile new
tenants at The Hub and is set to take occupation immediately.
Also announced as a new Hub tenant is search engine optimisation
advisor, Micrositez, which will take 750 ft² on the building's
ground floor. Micrositez has moved to the building with immediate
effect and has plans for further long-term expansion within The
Hub.
Completing the hat-trick of lets is knowledge-based engineering
firm, Virtual Interconnect, which has signed up to take 1,300 ft²,
again on The Hub's ground floor, having recently relocated from the
Hillington Innovation Centre.
Completed in February 2009 and offering flexible amounts of
space from 127 ft² upwards - as well as flexible leases that will
suit both larger companies and individual operators - The Hub's
ethos is all about building a 'seriously creative community' at the
heart of the new Digital Media Quarter on the banks of the River
Clyde.
Businesses can be up and running at The Hub, which is a joint
venture with Helical Bar, within just 48 hours of signing a lease.
The Hub's cafe bar (due to launch on 29 June) will also welcome
staff from other nearby buildings and visitors to Pacific Quay,
whilst the Hubsquare, a central atrium, will be used to host
exhibitions and events.
Donny McKinnon, director of Downtown Space, commented: "Just two
weeks ago, we announced three new tenants for The Hub, as well as
our cafe bar operator, so to be announcing three more tenants so
soon afterwards, is fantastic and demonstrates how much momentum
The Hub is gathering.
"These are three exceptional tenants who will fit perfectly into
The Hub community, which is all about collaboration and working
together. The appeal of The Hub is that it's not just another
office building - it's also a venue in its own right, where people,
and not just tenants, can meet to socialise and share ideas and
expertise."
Tim Jacobsen, Associate at joint letting agent, Ryden, said:
"The Hub certainly seems to be bucking current market conditions.
Occupiers are increasingly looking for space that they can expand
into on flexible terms that suit the flexible nature of the
business they do. The attraction of having office space that allows
them to connect with other like-minded business and creative
organisations is clear from the recent letting activity at The Hub,
and shows that the right product will be successful regardless of
the economic climate.
"Space at The Hub is also very efficient with tenants only
paying for the space that they actually occupy, while being able to
enjoy the benefits of the Hubsquare and the soon to be opened
café/bar."
Joint letting agents for The Hub are Ryden and CB Richard Ellis
(Scotland). All three new tenants represented themselves.
