Description

The Glasgow Green renewal plan has been devised to restore Glasgow Green (including the People's Palace and Winter Gardens, Fleshers' Haugh and Richmond Park) to its original glory and create an improved visitor attraction.

Cost

£15.5 million

Current status

The restoration and relocation of the famous Doulton Fountain – the world’s largest terracotta fountain - was completed in the summer of 2005. The Nelson and Martin Fountain has also been restored under the plan. Other completed works include improvements to grounds and services and the introduction of CCTV cameras.

Clyde Waterfront is a strategic partnership comprising the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Glasgow City, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire Councils. Its purpose is to promote the economic, social and environmental regeneration of 13 miles of the River Clyde from Glasgow city centre to Dumbarton.
