The learners will be taught more about local foods. They will find
out about traditional Scottish dishes and their ingredients, will
find out about the types of local produce available and the
advantages to using locally produced food. They will then run a
Scottish-themed cafe, serving traditional Scottish fayre.

• Subject knowledge about Scottish food, preparation and serving
gained and enhanced
• Enterprising skills - application of knowledge in a real
situation by the running of the cafe and through demonstrating the
type of produce to be sourced
• Develop employability skills through communication, planning,

• Pupils take responsibility for their learning through making
decisions about the dishes to be produced
