Description

Clydebank Re-built, through its subsidiary Clydebank Property Company, has acquired 16 acres of riverside adjacent to Rothesay Dock to provide a new site for Clydebank College and new premises to house businesses.

Clydebank College is one of the largest further education colleges in the west of Scotland with over 10,000 students. The new building incorporates modern engineering and construction workshops, highly equipped science labs, advanced sporting facilities, a commercial hairdressing salon and a conference suite.

The new college is part of the riverside development of the Queens Quay Learning and Enterprise District and the new campus opened for business in August 2007 with more than 200 new jobs expected to be created in the area.

The Council has asked Clydebank Re-built to begin the design development for a new leisure centre on the site next to the college. This will be a replacement for the playdrome in the town centre which will make way for a future superstore to be developed on that site.

Cost

£37 million
