Description

This new pedestrian bridge provides a vital link between Tradeston on the south bank of the river and Glasgow’s International Financial Services District.

The bridge's design, which was devised by Halcrow civil engineers in partnership with Scandinavian architects Dissing and Weitling, reflects Glasgow City Council's objectives to improve accessibility across the river and create a landmark waterfront structure.  The sinuous double curve creates a wave-like structure across the river and can be viewed as a landmark of engineering success by Glasgow-based Halcrow civil engineers in partnership with Scandinavian Dissing and Weitling.

The new bridge is ideally positioned to act as a catalyst for investment, promote confidence in the city and have a fundamental role in the river’s regeneration. It connectsTradeston and the International Financial Services District and provides a focus for activities and events, promoting Tradeston as a new urban quarter.
