Bridges art project

This lesson will allow pupils to study the bridges that span the Clyde, their functions, styles, engineering and design incorporated, effect on communities and culture, etc and then use this as inspiration for a piece of artwork.

Outcomes of learning

• Subject knowledge gained and enhanced
• Ability to utilise a mood board to give inspiration to pupils for a creation of art piece
• Responsibility for independent work to interpret a symbolic theme, and investigate and generate their own interpretation of it
• Citizenship understanding of bridges as links for communities and cultures
