Description

A 6-star deluxe hotel development is to be created in the heart of Glasgow's International Financial Services District (IFSD).

The 26-storey new build Jumeirah Glasgow Hotel will have 158 rooms and will occupy a run down site on the corner of Argyle Street and Robertson Street, directly across from the SAS Radisson Hotel.

Guests will enjoy leisure facilities including an impressive infinity pool, Jumeirah's Talise Wellness spa, a gym, rooftop cocktail lounge and several restaurants and bars.

Extensive business and conference facilities will be available along with a 630-seat ballroom and a dedicated club lounge.

A second, smaller tower is planned on the corner of Argyle Street and York Street, with 68 serviced apartments.

The development is designed to be as green as possible by incorporating bore hole technology to get water from the ground to supplement heating, high efficiency boilers, automatic lights, very high insulation and the latest lighting technology.

The 32,000m2 scheme has been designed by internationally renowned architects, Ian Simpson Architects and is located in the IFSD within walking distance of Glasgow Central Station.
