Vision and achievements

Our vision for the Clyde has helped develop a vibrant, thriving River Clyde with people and communities at its heart.

Clyde Waterfront was a strategic partnership comprising the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Glasgow City, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire Councils.

Its purpose from 2003 to 2014 was to promote the economic, social and environmental regeneration of 13 miles of the River Clyde from Glasgow city centre to Dumbarton.

  • 370,000 sq m of commercial floorspace
  • 73,000 sq m of retail accommodation
  • Over 250,000 sq m of new office accommodation
  • Over 10,000 new residential units
  • 23,000 new jobs
  • GVA of £1bn
